Scope
This policy covers the ALBeID websites: albeid.eu, albeid.al and albeid.ee. The evID app has its own privacy policy.
The websites are published by ALBeID OÜ, registry code 16874333 in the Estonian e-Business Register.
What the site does not do
The pages are static documents. They do not ask you for anything and do not observe what you do. There is no login, no contact form, no newsletter and no comment box. The site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no social media buttons and no tracking pixels. Every file it uses, including fonts and images, is served from the site itself, so your browser does not contact anyone else while you read it.
Privacy by design
The safest personal data is the data that was never collected. Because the site gathers nothing, there is no database to breach, no profile to misuse and nothing to hand over. What remains is protected by well-established means: every page is delivered over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and the server and lets your browser verify that the pages come from this site unaltered.
Technical server logs
Like any web server, the server that hosts this site may record standard technical information when a page or file is requested: the IP address, the date and time, the address requested, and the browser identification your browser sends. The same applies when the evID app downloads its trust lists from this site.
These records exist only to keep the service secure and working, for example to detect abuse or diagnose faults. ALBeID OÜ does not use them to identify, profile or follow visitors, does not combine them with other data and does not share or sell them. They are kept for one week and then deleted. The server is located in Germany and rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, which stores these logs only on ALBeID OÜ's behalf, under a data processing agreement. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating a secure website, under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Your right to object. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of server logs concerning you. ALBeID OÜ will then stop, unless it has compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, such as defending the server against an ongoing attack.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites, such as the Estonian e-Business Register. When you follow such a link, the other site's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data held about you, and to ask for it to be corrected, erased or restricted, or to object to its processing. Since the site collects nothing, there is normally nothing to return or delete, but you are always welcome to ask. ALBeID OÜ answers every request within one month. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work, or with ALBeID OÜ's lead authority, Estonia's Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
